A woman with long red hair, dressed in a black outfit, sits on the windowsill of an ivy-covered building surrounded by dense green foliage. She looks upwards, adding a mysterious and contemplative air to the scene. Ferns and other plants fill the foreground, creating a lush, overgrown atmosphere.

this song is my stab at alchemizing the violent rage i have held for the rotten, useless, soulless, patriarchal governments of late-stage capitalism… held it since i was radicalized as a child by learning the real motives behind the war in Iraq. resistance and revolution are imperative now. time is running out.

this song was written in Alexis’s family home in notre chère Normandie, during the nebulous anxiety cloud of spring 2021, up to my elbows in my Saturn Return.

this song is completely unrelated to the album i’ve been recording all year… literally sounds nothing like it. 2023 was the most potent artistic evolution i’ve ever undergone… but THIS song is the first thing that needs to be turned loose into the world from the long period of incubation, cohobation, congelation.

this song will always be a love letter to the power Martin, Jules, Alexis, and i gathered and unleashed together. this was gnosis, this was the Citrinitas before the Rubedo.

this song is both an ending and a beginning.

Fixed Error

From the liner notes — Untold is the soundtrack to a psychedelic blaxploitation film that was too crazy to release. If there is a discernible style here, it is the limitless, post-genre exploration of the restless musical adventurer, whose range is so broad as to encompass itself as it crosses the world repeatedly in a single track. Each song has a core idea – a solid groove and an overarching vibe – but beyond that, the only constant is change – of instrument, mood and era. Having produced film soundtracks for most of his professional career, Fixed Error aka James Orr brings a narrative approach to arrangement, in each track and across the album as a whole. We get the sense that we are hearing a story unfold, with each scene having its own sonic arc.

Album cover for 'Untold' by Fixed Error, featuring an abstract, surreal landscape with large, rounded rocks and a cracked, open rock revealing a red interior. The background is a textured, yellowish hue with the album title 'Untold' and artist name 'Fixed Error' displayed prominently at the top.

A middle-aged man, James Orr, with short, dark hair and a beard, smiles warmly at the camera. He is wearing a dark shirt and a textured cardigan. The background is a brick wall with graffiti, adding an urban and relaxed feel to the portrait.

Fixed Error gathered the material for this album over years, from a bewildering array of samples and live takes from his long career as a professional studio engineer. This is not to say that the overall effect is scattershot or random; Untold is a tightly-formed, polished album whose coherence lies in a deep understanding of how all the diverse elements work and how they can complement each other in new and unexpected ways. Densely-layered, each composition has orchestral levels of complexity, balancing and interweaving a myriad of instruments.

An album that you can get lost in for weeks, Untold is a high-concept, precision-cut musical odyssey that is packed in equal measure with original ideas and funky dancefloor energy.

Eddie Japan

The music of Eddie Japan has always existed in the spaces in between. It’s the elegant noise and cinematic melody that thrives in the slashes that bind genres together, allowing the celebrated Boston cinematic-pop septet to elicit a spectrum of genres – new wave, pop-rock, glam, indie, alternative, plus that new retro-pop sound that has yet to have a name – over the course of one tightly-knit pop song..

The musical group Eddie Japan poses against a plain background. The group consists of six men and one woman, all dressed in coordinated black and red attire. The woman, standing in the center, wears a red dress with sheer polka dot sleeves, while the men are dressed in a mix of suits, leather jackets, and casual wear, creating a stylish and unified look.

The man on the right, wearing a black hat and patterned shirt, sings into a microphone, while the woman on the left, with reddish hair, gestures expressively with her hand. The stage lighting casts a warm, golden glow over both performers.

Eddie Japan has been a magnetic force since its inception, buoyed by a soaring, dramatic sound that sounds nothing like anything else in the city it calls home. To some, Eddie Japan has commanded the stage – winning the 2013 Rock And Roll Rumble; resurrecting the music of The Cars with the iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band’s keyboardist and synth pioneer Greg Hawkes; and amassing a cult following around New England. To others, Eddie Japan has commanded the screen – 2019 single “Summer Hair” was included on Harmonix’s digital music festival game Fuser; and breakout 2015 single “Albert” was featured in Rock Band 4, launching countless musicians and guitar hopefuls around the world while the track generated over a million plays, and counting, on Spotify.

Marquis of Vaudeville

Marquis of Vaudeville shatters the monotonous & mundane with a rock opera soundscape of angst-ridden anthems, devilishly beguiling ballads, and waltzes through a wicked Wonderland that tug at the heartstrings of today’s youth.

Having the ambitious wish to propel the entire world into a melodic vortex, Marquis of Vaudeville emits an extraordinary alt-rock sound that spirals listeners on an utterly imaginative, musical merry-go-round. One never knows what moodswung journey they’ll embark upon once these musical highwaymen hijack their consciousness.

Portraits of the four members of The Marquis of Vaudeville, each with a distinct and stylized appearance. The first member on the left has long dark hair and a somber expression, set against a blue-green background. The second member has short dark hair and wears a suit with a red scarf, set against a warm brown background. The third member, a woman with short dark hair, wears a blue dress and a pendant, set against a cool blue background. The fourth member has short dark hair styled upwards and wears a suit with a cravat, set against a yellow-brown background. Each portrait has a painterly and dramatic effect.

The musical outfit is known for their captivating, carnival-esque, punk-cabaret stylings, fusing timeworn elements of the old world with newfangled innovation, a sound they’ve dubbed ‘melodic mischief’ owing to the music’s mysterious, yet playful nature. With their sophomore album ‘The Tragic Valentine’ Marquis of Vaudeville has set the creative bar even higher, breaking through the monotonous & mundane with a rock opera soundscape of angst-ridden anthems, devilishly beguiling ballads, and waltzes through Wonderland that tug at the heartstrings of today’s youth as well as old-school rockers. Along with this album came two award-winning music videos, We’re All Mad Here and The ENIGMA Men, both which continue to pile on accolades from film & music video festivals across the globe.
